As a Dutch national the concept of jury selection seems quite foreign to me. There is no such system in the dutch legal system. In Dutch criminal cases you can only be judged by a panel of three judges with more weight given to the elder judge most of the time. It was very informative to see your dissection and it gave me a new insight in American Law. Thank you!

The amount of information on the jurors the mainstream news was distributing was insane, I don't understand how they ever thought that was appropriate.
"We're keeping the identites of the jurors anonymous to protect them and the integrity of the trial... anyhow this juror is a nurse who works at XXX hospital in the pediatric department, she lives on the upper east side, is engaged and loves her dog!"
No wonder people figured out who a few of them were, literally anyone with an internet connection could have with enough effort at that point.

It is a true indictment on the news and reporting industry in the US that an individual can collect more accurate information and present it more accurately than them in spite of the individual having less connections to pull on for information.
