Playing God - FULL COVER on Nylon String w/ Archetype: Tim Henson (POLYPHIA)

The guitar used in this video is a Godin ACS nylon string. The guitar has piezo pickups, making it similar to the Ibanez guitars that Scott and Tim used to record the original track. The guitar was plugged straight into the Archetype: Tim Henson plugin by Neural DSP. I had the plugin set to the acoustic simulator and added as much compression as possible. The compression and fresh nylon strings is what gave my tone the insane attack and bite, which matches the track really well.

I have a couple misfires in timing here and there, but overall I am pretty pleased with how this turned out, especially considering this might be the most technical thing I have ever played on the instrument. Learning this song felt absolutely insurmountable at times, and I am so glad to be done with it LOL. This song required certain techniques that straight up did not exist when I first started learning guitar 18 years ago! Not to mention that I had never owned a nylon string guitar before, so there was a learning curve not only on the feel of the guitar, but also the tone. The tone is so clean that your mistakes don't have anywhere to hide.
