The XPeng G9 Isn't A Porsche, But It's Still Very Good

XPeng made waves when it claimed that their new G9 electric SUV was bench marked on the Porsche Cayenne. We went to Guangzhou, China to see what it was all about.

Great and honest reviews - really appreciate getting such beautifully made videos of these cars we don't see much in Europe and U.S.

Why manufacturers do not use big LFP batteries such as 90 kw/h or more at their offerings? This will bring the costs down. And thank you for the review. Awesome vehicle from Xpeng.

A bit of a random question. Could you possibly do a video on breaking down the lineups for the foreign brands in the Chinese market? For example a list of the China-only Ford lineup.

I'd rather have an Xpeng G9 than a Porsche.

Great video! This is a 2 year old video and the Chinese were so far ahead then. Bought a new BYD Seal Performance AWD and love it. For the $75k AUD, its the best value for the money. Neber thought I'd see the day I'd buy a Chinese made car. But they are just so far ahead of legscy manufacturers it's not even funny. When this G9 gets to Aussie shores we are getting one. We had wanted a Sealion 7, but with the specs of this and the price, (estimating based on prices in Europe) which would be around ~$110k AUD, it cant be beat. Hopefully its as well made and reliable (one small issue with the Seal which resolbed itself) as the Seal has been ober the last 20k kms. Look at you China, did what took the Koreans 30 years to do youve done it in less than 10. Bravo!

Thanks for another great and honest review. One question, what's the exterior color of the G9 that you tested: frost silver, graphite grey or other?

Driving this car in the Netherlands now. Very happy with it. Picked it over the Germans and never looked back.
