Tested In-Depth: Boosted Electric Skateboard!

Many futuristic ideas seem too farfetched to be practical, but this electric skateboard really works and turned out to be both fun and useful. Norm learns to skate with the Boosted electric longboard and we discuss how this board is more than just motors and batteries attached to a normal longboard.

I must say the thing I enjoyed the most in this video is the practical use of drone camera work. I mean... I know the star of the video is supposed to be the Boosted long board, but the drone cinematography is a really neat way to capture this type of video for a review.

I saw someone riding up California to the top of Nob Hill on one of these.  Impressed it had the horse power to make it up!  Less impressed with the guy riding it; unsafely wobbling down the middle of a busy street.

Batteries are Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo)
My roomate got 2 of these when they first came out. Very awesome. Almost too fast for me.

Wow, did they film the scenes of Norm on the board using a quadcopter? Worked great.

A good longboard deck can cost about $140, a precision trucks can cost around $400, ceramic bearings cost about $140, longboard wheels cost average= $50  racing wheels= $90. So if you have the money to spend top notch gears for a longboard, it can cost a lot of money, but the average complete board cost around $300.

A  buddy of mines did something similar and way less comfortable and ergonomic. Basically ghetto-rigged a leaf blower engine to it. IT RIDES Fast as hell, only thing is the torque and full speed is almost instantaneous when turned on, there is an off button but it's basically also ghetto-rigged. I would totally recommend it for people who know what they are doing (at their own risk) also it goes way faster than this. (Not saying this board is bad by any Cost of a goof leaf blower- 120-250 (Not an leaf blower, expert)
   2. Should already have a longboard, or better yet make one yourself.
   3. Requires bright thinking/ logical engineering lol

To make up for the batteries being dead and having to carry the board around, they should turn the motors in the wheels into mini generators to recharge the Lithium Ion battery.  You could switch it up between riding and pushing for a while.

Those trucks are caliber 2's and they are a very nice truck. I use the original calibers for downhill and freeride and they are amazing.

i wanna buy this because its available right now but Inboard is so much better especially with the swappable battery only problem is that i have to wait !!!!
