Did you know that Frank Sinatra paid for Judy Garland’s funeral because they had previously been lovers during their lifetimes, or did you think that it was because they were simply lifelong friends? While many may know that Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland were lifelong friends, fewer people know that the two actually hooked up on two separate occasions before Judy's untimely death in 1969. At the time of their first affair, Frank was married to his first wife Nancy, and Judy was married to her second husband Vincente. Both went on to divorce their respective spouses soon after their first affair together, though they ended up marrying other people.

Frank and Judy’s first love affair had been in 1949. After divorcing from first wife Nancy, Frank Sinatra went on to marry Hollywood actress Ava Gardner. Meanwhile, Judy married producer Sidney Luft after divorcing from second husband Vincente. Still, neither Frank nor Judy found that they were totally satisfied with their new marriages. Because of this, they started up a second affair together.

There were numerous reasons that Frank and Judy kept their various love affairs a secret throughout their lives, not the least of which being that they were both married to other people on both occasions. However, a recently recovered letter written by Judy and given to Frank to signal the end of their first affair has recently verified long-standing rumors that the pair were romantically involved.

Frank and Judy’s second love affair occurred in 1955, and the pair never got back together romantically after this second occasion. However, they remained lifelong friends. Since Judy was $4 million in debt upon her death, Frank paid for her funeral. Join Facts Verse as a scandalous letter reveals Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland’s affair.

Honestly, this pairing would make more sense than most of the other relationships either of them had.

Letter writing is a lost art. I miss sending and receiving old fashioned hand written mailed letters.

Frank offered to pay for the service, but Liza refused the offer. Not for any malice towards frank, but she believed it was her duty.

It doesn't surprise me that these two dynamic talents hooked up. They were their generation's equivalent to FWB: friends with benefits. Even if they hadn't hooked up, Frank would've paid for Judy's funeral because he was just that kind of guy.

I believe Frank Sinatra helped pay for the funeral expenses of several entertainers.
Sammy Davis Jr for example.

I imagine in Judy's case her family could have paid for a modest service. I think Frank wanted to see
Judy go out in the style she deserved.

I've read about 6 Biographys on Judy Garland. I think Shipman's book talks of her affair with Frank Sinatra .I didn't know about the letter .I did know he paid for the her funeral in 1969.I also thought I read that Liza promised to pay him back .Her funeral was probally expensive as they shipped her body from London. I think Liza, Lorna and Joey called him Uncle Frank.

2 of the Greatest singers of all time. When U think about it, it was inevitable. Would have loved if they'd left communication on singing, & music btwn each other, or better, cut an album, or movie together.

Why is it a big deal to report a stranger has sex with another? They have zero impact on our lives

Seems Frankie put his Ding A Ling in the majority of all the actresses back in his day because he could 😉

Sometimes you never know you love somebody until they are gone. I think Frank and Judy had true love with one other.

Frank Sinatra and Lauren Becall affair occurred while Lauren's husband and Frank's supposed good friend, Humprey Bogart, was on his deathbed dying from what witnesses have discribed as the most horrific suffering and end at the hands of esophageal cancer. Yeah, Frank was such a nice guy.

Frank had heart beneath the gruff exterior, helping Sammy Davis Jr. practice his balance after getting the glass eye, etc (though I get dizzy following his maze of relationships).

All of these affairs ! ! ! My God - didn't these people have any moral values. Back in the day when Judy Garland and Frank Sinatra were very, very popular if this b. S. got out it could have ruined both of their careers.A movie stars reputation back then meant everything. Morality and good role models meant a lot to most Americans.

So we are adding another bed mate to Frank's list.

Garland remained close friends with Sinatra until her untimely death in 1969. She was $4 million in debt when she died and it was Sinatra who reportedly paid for her funeral.😥😥😥

How could they "count each other among their other spouses" if they were never actually spouses?

Was there any woman in Hollywood Sinatra didn't sleep with?
