Seems to me that the original saw is more of a hand saw replacement than a reciprocating saw. Looks like you get cleaner, more precise cuts at the cost of speed.

i have that B&D sawzall and its actually fairly competent. least for everything ive needed it for from PVC pipe to a car muffler and a floor joist. I mean its not great, but for the average owner whos only gonna use it like 2 times a year its decent

While I totally agree that it is more of a toy than a tool, having a solid work bench makes so much more of a difference than you would ever imagine. 90% of the tools energy is being soaked up by the table.

That battery powered B&D has half the battery that you use with the Milwaukee. Use a 4AH double packed battery for the B&D and it will be a lot stronger. Larger battery does not only mean larger capacity but also larger current which directly translates into engine torque.

One thing that helps when cutting metal is to give a few brief squeezes of the trigger to sort of notch yourself a cut in. Then you can go ham and finish the cut. I do this when cutting EMT to prevent the sawzall from skipping side-to-side

Black and decker is mean for the random repair around the house that happens two or three times annually. The time it takes to do the job isn't crucial because it shouldn't be a daily use too or job site tool. Its meant to just do good enough to finish a task.

I think the cheap one with that thick blade is kinda interesting. Seems like it makes a straighter cut due to its thickness not allowing it to walk as easily.

I suspect that the trouble clamping the metal is due in large part to Milwaukee blades being typically pretty aggressive. Without the power to take the aggressive cut, it just grabs a lot.

You know, I agree with the general sentiment that results for all of the saws would be better if Tyler was using a proper workbench. But there have been so many people saying it already, that I get the distinct feeling that next week we're gonna see a video where he bought an expensive and sturdy table just so he can test the saws and prove that the B+D electric handsaw thing is still worse at cutting wood even with the table.

Tyler. PLEASE buy a sturdier bench. You can tighten the clamps all you want, but if they work surface is moving around, you might as well just not use clamps and use your hand instead.

The fact that the best compliment this saw gets is "it's almost not as bad as a similar garbage saw" is again making me question why it exists

He doesn’t need a sturdier work bench, cuz the the Milwaukee still way out performed them both with the very same set up.
If he gets a work bench and then the B&D brand perform better as a result of it the Milwaukee will then do !EVEN BETTER! as well, with the RATIO of performance being the SAME as this video.

I gotta ask.... Is it really about speed? I would think that the quality of the cut is important as well. A sawzall type saw is not going to leave a clean-cut whereas the other one might.
