I had this exact court appearance 7 times (I had to pay my lawyer 7 times while she didnt show up) until I was finally granted custody. Meanwhile, 16 years later I have yet to see a single dime in the court ordered child support she was ordered to still had to pay my lawyer fees.

This poor kid. But man this is a life lesson that's for sure. These kids (some times older people) need to really think about who you are hooking up with and realize this could be a possible fellow parent you will be tied to. Some people are just not cut out to be parents.
