Lyle Petersen from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) speaks about climate change and vector borne diseases.

Weather and climate have profound influence on the incidence and distribution of vector-borne diseases globally. This lecture explores current concepts of how climate change is expected to impact vector-borne disease emergence in the context of the many other interacting biologic, ecologic, and sociologic drivers of this emergence. The lecture focuses on mosquito- and tickborne diseases in North America and Europe.

The Robert Koch Colloquium is an annual interdisciplinary lecture series, each year focusing on one specific innovative public health topic, such as Digital Epidemiology (2017), Human Microbiome Research (2018), Burden of Disease (2019) or Public Health Surveillance (2021). The theme of this year's Robert Koch Colloquium is Climate Change and Public Health (2022). Lectures are held in English.
