The Xanadu Quantum Cloud is the first cloud platform offering access to photonic quantum computers via its silicon photonic chips. Having quantum computers perform processes on classical electronic based chips is like running a marathon when you only know how to crawl. photonics is the way forward for quantum computing without a doubt.

Quantum computers will allow logic-relational-constraint languages to work in large programs, these languages take an exponential amount of time to compute as you linearly increase the number of goals or constraints. You could also evolve programs that work via merging two arbitrary programs together at various points and figure out which one makes a valid useful program...

Very interesting. I wonder are some of the coding applications mentioned for use in this type of hardware are quantum annealing type problems based on meta-heuristic algorithms which have been implemented on adiabatic-styled quantum computer's in the recent past, such as the d-wave quantum computer? I ask because I have been developing ways to equate quantum algorithms to more classical theories of network synchronization that could be run on more portable classical computing hardware.

0:58 the inputs all cover a different distance on their way to the squeezers, i'm curious how the photon packets are timed so accurately. i'm guessing the actual photon paths look quite different.

I don't understand something here; the Xanadu website, as well as other articles, says that their photonic quantum computers work at room temperature, but their photon detectors, the transition edge sensors, need to be kept in a superconductive state in order to work, which requires cryogenic cooling.

Which is it then? Does the machine require cryogenic cooling, and thus does not truly perform at room temperature, or have they invented a new type of transition edge sensor that can work at room temperature?
