There seems to be a pretty severe echo occurring on certain shots in the video.

will this help you if you already have something like a samsung 960 m.2 as your boot drive ?

I have a question; is it possible to activate Intel Optane together with a m.2 nvme PCIe Gen 3 X4 of 512GB (I have a WD Black PCIe Gen 3 X4 of 512GB)?? Or I am wrong and the intel optane is only designed for ssd sata 3?

Can I run a Nvme Samsung 960 and Optane at the same time? Would it even make sense?

I love the price points for an assisted storage solution. However in comparison to current NVME PCIE host, Intel if i am not mistaken is using some kind of assist to pass it on to NVME for caching as this is a cache solution. If this is correct, i wonder what the overhead expense is, as to question total cycle for the end user in performance for Intel's hand off and if it is a true improvement vs isolated tests of read/write die trips vs current NVME PCIE solutions. Still, great price for upgrades in HDD systems and a great future to build on.
*Update. well she sort of answered me at the very end, it is a bump for everything below current NVME PCIE

AT 46:20 is JJ saying even if you have a small SSD boot drive, bouncing from SSD to HHD you will see improvement? I am not sure what he is saying here. I have a 250 M.2 drive boot and a 3 TB games HHD. Not sure this would help my system.

This is for a very small segment of users. You have to be on a Kabylake platform and have an M.2 slot or buy a PCI-e adapter. This is a small segment of the market right now. It is compelling to have the ability to be able to add speed to mass storage drives but the 79% of users who are still running HDD's most are not going to have Kabylake and even if they do most of them won't find it worth the hassle or won't know how to install and set this up. If Intel was interested in actually selling these they would have it work across many platforms but they are only interested in giving people more reason to buy or stay with Intel systems. Can you say "APPLE".

They mention release date and MSRP at about the 24 minute mark. You're welcome.

Here's my main issue with all this: Most candidates for "turbocharging" their mechanical hard drives are not going to be on brand-new Series-200, Gen-7 hardware. (If they cared about having the latest and greatest, they'd be using SSDs.) Those people are not going to see this Optane solution as cost-effective at all. They'd have to buy a new motherboard and CPU at the very least, in addition to the Optane product. They'd be better off buying a fairly hefty SSD and imaging their system HDD to it, then using the HDD for storage of media and other files without heavy demands on performance. Better cost, and no heavy system rebuilding. (If the motherboard has to go, it's no easier than building a box from scratch.)

This video is long and boring. I wish they could just draw me a picture. Keep it short and simple. i.e. how fast is it?, how long does it last?, and how much will it cost?

They didn't need the woman since verbose JJ could have done the presentation all by himself.
