Port Harvey to Potts Lagoon, BC - Scenery & Highlights (Boating British Columbia Coast - July 2024)

Another video update from our 2024 boating season here on the south coast of British Columbia. This time, we will travel from Port Harvey to Potts Lagoon via Havannah, Chatham, and Clio Channels. The timing was critical at a pair of narrow spots, but Anne's planning paid off, and the passage went smooth as silk. We were thrilled to spot our first grizzly bears of the season! What looked like a lone young male foraging along Chatham channel and a mother and cub behind our anchored boat near Potts Lagoon. The video finishes with a dinghy ride deep into Potts Lagoon at high tide.

Flew out of Minstrel Island in the early 80's for "Minstrel Air". At that time, the Carder family owned that building that you reference as you went by. It has certainly changed a lot since then!!! Flew all around that area for several years... thanks for bringing back some great memories.

I used to work in that area. We went into Beware Passage and found a pictograph on a rock wall with a pretty clear image of an old sailing ship.

Beautiful! We cruised your gorgeous islands for 20+ years in our Nordic Tug so it was a nostalgic trip with you two today.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of o/b do you have on your dinghy? It really overpowers the audio of your beautiful videos.

Very nicely done! I have to admit, I'm a bit envious and wish I still had my boat. But one had to go and the RV won.... at least for now.

8:33 I consider myself pretty knowledgeable on the types of boats that are out there but I've never seen that one before. It looks like a ocean crosser.

I've watched you for a few years. Ouch, to your thumb. You and Anne are runnin a tight ship.

Incredible views. We got a taste of that beauty on our Alaskan cruise a number of years ago. Ray, was your Trawler a fishing boat in its previous life or always a pleasure boat?

Does the low tides affect the water level very much in the inlets?
