A crossover reference was made to The Walking Dead! For those who don’t know, Jeffrey Dean Morgan played John Winchester, the father of Dean and Samuel in Supernatural, before moving to The Walking Dead to portray fan favourite, Negan. In an episode of Supernatural, Dean can be seen holding a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, which is an exact replica of Negan’s famous bat, Lucille. The reference to Morgan's role in both shows was only highlighted more when Dean said “Man, dad loved this thing.”

There was a Gilmore girls reference. The boys were touring the WB backlot and the tour guide pointed out the Stars Hollow gazebo to which Sam (who played Dean in GG) looks disgusted and mildly concerned while Dean has never been so entertained

Samething happened to Cameron Monaghan. In the SHOWTIME tv show he played a guy named Ian and in the episode he had a mental breakdown and decided to get locked up in a mental institute for help. The next day the same actor in a FOX tv show appears and he is playing as the joker
