Who’s ready for an absolutely wild petrol v EV drag race?!

Mat’s got his hands on the awesome Porsche 911 GT3 RS and he’s going up against a classic VW Beetle… Which has had the engine ripped out and replaced with a battery & motor from a Tesla Model S!

When it comes to the stats, we need to start off with the Beetle, don’t we? It was originally released in 1972, and thanks to the Model S battery & motor it can put down 450hp & 675Nm of torque! It’s still pretty damn light, weighing in at around 1,050kg.

As for the Porsche, it’s certainly got the power advantage over the VW, with its 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six producing 520hp & 470Nm! It’s a fair bit heavier though, tipping the scales at 1,430kg.

So will electric power prevail? Or will the Porsche leave the Beetle in its wake? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
