Honestly, who's watching this? Brandel makes it sounds like everyone is tuned on Haven't watched a single second of it.

If Scottie is “demonstrably” better than everyone else why not start even?

Number 30 doesn’t even have a chance to try and win… so why play? Make it top 10 golfers match play that be more entertaining! Also listening to Brandel call this the most hallowed ground in golf made me wanna vomit.

The entire reason for being in a playoff race is a chance to win. The guy starting off even has no chance at winning the cup even tho he played his way in.

If someone can be 16 under par after one round there is something seriously wrong with the course set up…..

This sport cannot be like Baseball, Football, or Baseball and declare at the end of the season only ONE champion and it shouldn't try. The Fed Ex cup has always been a bit to contrived. Each version more of the same. Scottie's year is the only Tiger like one in my memory of golf ( 50 years of playing and watching) Yet $$$$ is what all sport is all about now. Look what $$$$ has done to golf in the last couple years? Is it better, growing the game or just all about who gets control of the money.

I couldn't agree more with every thing Brandel said.

How about this format: all 30 players start off even, on the same level playing field and battle it out for the FedEx Cup. They all deserve to be here through their play during the regular season and the Playoffs- there are no flukes. That would actually be exciting. Instead, every year, we have to endure some convoluted format that clings to the notion that what someone did 6 months ago should be the overriding factor in who wins the Cup. If that's the case, cancel the Tour championship and just hand out the trophy.

Man, does Brandel interrupt in a conversation.

A golf purest can appreciate a dominant, win, blowout performance or season. The average golf fan wants to see the drama. TV ratings and the PGA Tour hopes it comes down to the final hole.

Yes… exactly what happens in every competition in the world. It’s what matters at the end.

The FedExCup rules for the season-ending Tour Championship are ridiculous. This is the only PGA tournament that gives players a handicap. The 30 golfers don't start even? You've got to be kidding! The FedExCup rules for the rest of the season should apply. If the #1 player has so many FedExCup points that nobody can beat them for the cup, so be it. That proves they had a fantastic season and deserve the cup. Who should win the Tour Championship? The contender who has the best score, just like the rest of the season; even up, no handicap. I am OK with different players winning the Cup and the Championship or the same player. The PGA sullied their brand when they decided to play by these rules.

There's good points from both sides. My solution is it's a stroke play 4 day tournament as usual with a "BIG" pay day for the winner with much bigger pay than normal tournaments during the year for players going down the leaderboard then players getting bonus checks respective to how the finished the season on top of that. Best players throughout the year make bigger bonus checks and everyone has the "same" chance of winning the "BIG" payday season ending tournament.

If you have to explain why it's dramatic, then it's not accessible enough to be commercially dramatic. We're not arguing 'what showcases the best golf', we're trying to figure out what looks like dramatic golf to someone who normally wouldn't watch. This ain't it.

My guy Brandel has no idea how not to interrupt.

"the only reason athletes play is money.." Really? Also, how's the viewership numbers looking? I've watched one round of this final tournament - ever! Most fans could care less about this event.

“Money is all why athletes play sport” … but he condemns players who’s went to LIV cause of money. Give me a break
