"Chill Guy Vietnamese Magazine Cover Plagiarism Hoax"
A hoax circulated online claiming Phillip Banks' 2023 "Chill Guy" character design plagiarized a 2018 Vietnamese children's magazine cover, "Học Trò Cười" (Laughing Children). However, the magazine's actual publication date is 2024.

On December 24, 2024, Reddit user Kaito8008 posted the magazine cover, falsely claiming it was Thai, on r/CHILLGUYCOIN. The cover features a child and dog with "Chill Guy" characteristics.

The image spread across platforms:

1. December 25, 2024: Informal-System-4614 reposted it on r/blursedimages.
2. December 25, 2024: Twitter user @onchainbookie shared a fake Google Image Reverse search result, claiming the image existed since 2018.
3. December 25, 2024: Facebook pages "Low Quality Content" and "Psychological Memefare" shared the image, sparking controversy.

Phillip Banks denied the plagiarism accusations on Twitter, clarifying the magazine actually used his "Chill Guy" design.
