POV: You were growing tired of staying inside the royal palace all day so you wore a plain cloak that covered your beautiful clothes and part of your face. You made your way into the night market that wasn’t happening too far away.

The cheerful music and smells of various street food brought a smile to your face. You stopped in front of one of your favorite dumpling vendors you’d always visit during your nightly escapades.

“The mysterious lady is back, ” the old cook greeted you with a smile. “How can I help you?”

You just smiled at him and he could tell from your eyes you were. He nodded with a chuckle.

“So you’ve come to watch me cook again? I’m glad to have an audience that’s interested in my skills.” He said as he began to prepare his next batch of dumplings in front of you.

You titled your head and silently watched him as your mouth watered. You would have gotten some dumplings but that risked having your face exposed to the public.

“I’ll have four dumplings once they’re ready.” A voice behind you suddenly said as you couldn’t help but jump a little.

“My apologies, ” the same voice said as the owner of it stepped into your view. “I didn’t mean to be loud.”

You could only bow your head to let him know he was forgiven. He smiled at you and you liked the way it curved on one side of his face while his hands were crossed behind his back.

After he paid for his two set of dumplings, you were caught off guard when he gave one of them to you.

“It’s not fair to eat while your neighbor stands hungry.”

You bowed your head again and smiled at him.

“I want to ask for your name but I have a feeling you won’t tell me.”

You couldn’t help but giggle at him before you caught yourself and became stiff.

“It’s alright. I like your laugh.” He assured you as his eyes glowed with mirth.

The dumplings radiated with warmth from inside the cloth you held close to you. But your heart grew warm as well and you were thankful the face cloth prevented your growing blush to be seen.

You silently bid the kind stranger goodnight as you made your way back to your palace. Once within the safe vicinity of your room, you took of your face covering and ate the dumplings. You grinned at its wonderful taste but also at the thought of the noble stranger who gave them to you.

The next day, you had to wake up early so you were properly introduced to your new assembly of guards. When the last one stepped before you and introduced himself as the chief guardsmen, he bowed with his hands crossed behind his back. A small smile managed to escape your lips.

It turns out that kind stranger wouldn’t remain a stranger for long.

As a half Chinese person ;___; thank you all these songs are so beautiful. China is such a beautiful country with one of the most precious cultures, it’s so sad to see how many people on the west base their xenophobia and hate to the country based on ignorance and bad stereotypes. They are missing beautiful things like this.
These songs are like poems to the soul. <3

Pov; You’re a young lady from a noble family. Earlier at a poem recital event you met a young scholar, not particularly dazzling but was well versed in all the literature and can recite any poem instantly. He isn’t covered in lavish silk or adorned with jade and agate yet his eyes twinkle like yemingzhu and his voice as clear as a sparrow’s spring song. With each word he spoke you fell a little more in love. Now the sun is giving it’s best golden hour and you’re feeding goldfish in your family pond. Thinking of him and smiling like a crazy person. Thinking of how you can meet him again and maybe even create an interaction. What color rouge to wear or what gown to pick so you won’t look like you’re showing off but nice enough to not look underwhelming. Next day come and you see him setting a stall selling calligraphy and painting scrolls. You come over and recite one of the poems and praises it an explicit classic and he corrects you saying it was actually his own creation and you shyly smile behind your fan, slightly embarrassed but also delighted to know that he’s so talented. You asked shrewdly if he would care to leave his poem on your fan and sign it, while inviting him to a private gathering to share your collection of arts and listen to your pipa over tea. He blushed a little and agreed…

I wrote this while listening to Jasmine Flower by National Cinema Symphony Orchestra (21:28). I feel this story fits the aesthetic of the song. POV:

You're walking through the castle's garden and can't help but admire the blossoming peach trees. The light pink flowers match your elegant gown, and you decide to pick one of the flowers to place over your right ear. While you continue to walk, you see an individual from afar. The breeze catches the trees, and the flowers begin to whirl around you. You soon realize the stature belongs to a young man. You lock eyes expecting him to look away, but he holds your gaze. You walk closer, and he bids you a smile that can't help but warm your heart. "Good evening Princess, taking a stroll?" You return his smile and say, "I am." You continue to gaze into his eyes, and he says, "The peach trees are beautiful this time of year." You say, "Yes, they are. The dusty rose pigment has always captivated me; it has a young yet elegant tone." He says, "I agree. I'll take a guess and say it's your favorite color." You smile back and say, "How could you tell? Is it that obvious?" He grins and points to your raiment and says, "Your gown matches the blooms and the color of your lips." You can't help but blush and turn away to hide the stir of emotions that he invokes in you. He chuckles and says, "I hope I have not offended you, Princess." You turn back and reply, "Not at all." You tuck a stray of hair behind your right ear, forgetting about the flower. The flower then whirls away in the light breeze. The stranger says, "You've seen to have lost your flower." "It seems I have, " you say, "I forgot I had placed it there earlier." He begins to walk to a nearby branch and plucks a fresh blossom, "Here, I'll get you a new one." As you watch him, you realize he is inches from your face. He lifts the flower to your ear, and he asks, "May I?" You say, "Of course." His warm touch grazes your face, and he tucks your hair behind your ear to place the flower. "There, " he says, "The elegance of this garden is now intertwined with your grandeur." You stare at him and ask, "I never asked for your name. Who are you?" He tilts his head, and with his hand on your face, says, "Maybe if fate is kind to us, we will meet each other again." His hand slides away from your face and turns around to leave. You watch his stature as he makes his departure. You don't run after him because you feel that everything that happened was meant to be the way it was. You gaze up to the sky covered by the peach trees and say to yourself that you believe fate will bring you two back together. Until then, the moment you shared with the stranger was as perfect as it could be.

POV: A painting was displayed in a museum, there you noticed a tall man staring at the painting for a while, then you went to approach him.

"That woman in the silly painting, " he said.

" Uhm... What?" you asked as if you heard it right.

"That's not just a silly painting sir, I always dreamed of something as if I were in an old-time, in an old place, inside a palace with a large garden of flowers and dress like a medieval princess in a novel and it feels like I was looking for something so I decided to paint that very scenario in case if I forget about it one day, " you explained.

"I just found The woman whom I visited in my dreams, " he said in a tone like he found a long-lost treasure.

He seems to be familiar with the lady in the painting.

The strange tall man stayed silent.

Then you remembered, there was a man with long black hair as charcoal, one hit of a silver ray of the sun shines like a sun, he's like a friend to you every night that keeps all those stressful events that happened in your reality, a man who you've usually seen in your dreams

but you couldn't able to remember his face whenever you wake up.

The last thing he said was.

"If one day we'll not be able to meet again, I'll promise to find you.

You became kinda suspicious of him, so you asked him to make sure if all of that was just a silly dream.

"May I ask who's that lady you're looking for?" you asked curiously.

"We meet every night, each night passed, we grow closer like old childhood friends reunited again."

As you stood still, you were shocked, what the man said sounded exactly the same you dreamed of every night.

" But unfortunately it's been years since I last met her "

You thought this was all a coincidence but it isn't, what if that man was standing in front of you in the museum of all places.
How would you react if you knew he was looking for you for years or even for centuries?

"If I'm not mistaken are you the-" you wanted to ask but he interrupted and said.

"What would you do if I said yes, I am."

pov:

it's finally 'that' time of the day again. you're finally be able to sneak out to your room to meet your very loved soldier. as you walk on the halls, you noticed how full and big the moon is. it made you smile and continue to walk on your spot.

"how's your day?" the soldier asked. "its always the same, i need to be careful, they can't know about us." he hugged you very tight that you can feel that he's saying that 'its all gonna be alright'... you stayed a little bit longer on his side before its time for his shift again. you can't seem to relax a bit, you kept overthinking about what will happen if your family knows your relationship with the soldier. you let out a big sigh.

"they attacked!!" the co-soldier said. the palace begun to get noisy to get ready for the battle. everyone started to get panic that they started running around. you got distracted by it that you didn't notice that the soldier was talking.

"you need to get out of here, now." he said while grabbed your shoulder. "b-but!"
"no buts, the battle's very serious." he hugged you once again and whispered this words into your ears "its all gonna be alright, remember?" tears started to fall knowing that you two might not see each other again... you started running to get to the main place where the royal family gets together to be safe.

"lets get out of here." they said.

you're outside the palace now, riding your horses to get away from the chaos. you turned back your head to see your home one last time again. "until i see you again, my love."

your secret might not get revealed, but whatever you do for it to stay... faith will always change it in the way you need to let go someone you longed and loved.

Cherry blossoms wither as soon as they flower. You have learnt that from the endless strolls you have enjoyed in the royal garden, the soft pink petals caressing your skin as the wind drove them away. It made you rather melancholic that they were allowed more freedom than you ever were, dancing along the gigantic trees, witnessing unrequited love stories and beautiful poetry.
You sighed. Your father, the king, has forbid you to leave the palace as often for your safety, and saw fit to replace the garden with paintings on your room wall, going as far as assigning you a personal guard.
Thankfully, no maid followed you today. That said, you climbed a tree, occupying a huge branch to admire the vastness of a world you'll never experience.
You spotted a tall man in a grey yukata entering the palace. He bowed respectfully to the gatekeepers, gesturing something you failed to understand. And as he approached the tree you were on, you pushed yourself further away from the tree trunk to see him, to see more than just black silky hair held into a ponytail.
In a moment, too absorbed into your concentration, you slipped off the tree. It took you a second to realize you were falling- to realize you are probably going to break a bone or two, and it'll be painful, so painful, and your father won't allow you out anymore. You shut your eyes and prayed it won't turn out as terrible as you expected, until–
You figured you weren't on the ground. Definitely, it wasn't as comfortable as this, nor smelled as good. You slowly opened your eyes to meet a pair of otherworldly hazel ones, a supernova, dust and leafs, night and day. It was the man of earlier, a smile of relief coloring his features for having caught you on time. His deep voice rang through your ears. "Are you okay?"

They said you were a beauty that could collapse kingdoms, but were you truly?

As your maids painted your lips with the reddest rogue that seemed almost like blood, you sighed to yourself. Was being a beauty a good thing? Where had it gotten you now?

As the maids grabbed your golden traditional garments, you looked at yourself in the mirror; you were said to be a beauty that was better to look at than a thousand paintings.

Ink black hair framed your face, and your pale skin was tinged with the slightest pink from some light tint that was applied earlier.

This face to you was just an appearance your were born with, but men never looked past your beauty because for them you were merely a treasure. Someone who was used as decoration in the royal palace and a pawn who could easily be sold off.

You knew it better than anyone.

Yet still, your heart longed for the mysterious man you had met on the street one day. Your face had been covered at the time by a veil, but still the man had not hesitated to protect a woman he knew nothing about. He was a commoner, yes, but he was braver than any soldier or man you had ever known.

You waved your maids away at the swish of your hand, and gazed outside your palace room window longingly. The birds around you fluttered and the trees around you danced with the wind.

You wish you could be free like the birds but you were forever trapped in a cage, forced to marry a man you would never want.

“General, you must not go up there” you heard a voice echo from somewhere underneath your room. The voice was slightly high pitched and seemed to be one of your maids.

“Yun!” You heard a familiar voice yell. You stood up in surprise, your heart thumped rapidly, and you wondered if it was truly him. Was it the same man on the street who had captured your heart with one smile?

Rushing down the steps, you felt your hair fall apart from its delicate style, but still you grinned happily. As you saw the tall figure whose body was wrapped in dark armor, you could almost immediately tell it was him.

No one else could make you feel so warm or safe as easily as him.
