My entry for ISM's The Rising Sun Group Build.
This is the Airfix 1/72 Aichi D3A1 "Val" dive bomber of WW2. The kit's original moulds date from 1965, but the Cartograf printed decals and boxing are from 2011. It's an oldie with raised exterior rivets and panels, no real interior details, and less than crystal clear canopy. But that's all part of the charm and fun. My plan is to display it in flight on a dive bombing run.

Hi, O did that kit a few years ago.It went together really well no issus to report with this one.Decals went on great.Look forward to this build binging complete :)

Good luck with that old Airfix kit mate, but I know you'll persevere and make a nice job out of her.

This is an old kit and not one of Airfix's best but for some reason I've been wanting to get one of these. I can't explain it but I do.

I think this kit a bit too old ; maybe a Hasegawa . As airfix retooling the Kate this year ; maybe a Val soon .
