E-bikes: Second battery explodes in a fortnight

An increasing number of fires being caused by batteries exploding has led to the London Fire Brigade encouraging people not to charge e-bikes in their homes.

This footage from Roehampton in south west London was the second such blast in two weeks.

Ive had my Electric bike for two years now, Ive replaced the battery, Never had any problems with fires breaking out, Now days im always charging up my Electric bike while I can keep an close eye on it, Once its been charged up, I remove the charger, After watching all these news about E bike fires

If used with the correct charger and not modified or damaged there quite safe

Clearly it is people doing modifications to their builds to make them faster with no electrical knowledge, either that or purchased a battery that was fake in the first place

yes these batteries can explode when not being charged ..lithium batteries can and do explode . electric cars also have issues with the lithium batteries . buses cars and e- bikes.. cell phones... i pads, lap top computers ...vacuum cleaner , ,, all have issues...ANY LITHIUM BATTERY ...
