3 years later I purchased a Mavic pro fly more combo for A$900. Granted it was 2nd hand but pretty new and flown only couple of times since seller has another one. These pros are a great bargain now with Mavic 2 and Airs in the market. It’s still a fantastic drone especially for avg dtone users. I hear what you mean about range, having a Spark which uses wifi it’s liberating. Great video.

Is there a gimbal problem in some of the shots? The horizon is not straight...

A little tip is to take off on a launch pad (you can get these on amazon for €17) because they help with the return home feature since it takes a video of its launch point and records the pattern + it protects the propellers from long grass or sand.

I found it terrific and also quite confusing.

I’ve wanted to get into drone piloting for a while now and am so torn between going down the DJI (read expensive up front) or the FPV path... I don’t know if I ever see myself racing, but am hesitant to shell out $1800 just in case I don’t like it.

But then I can see that the FPV hobby could get mega expensive if I do like it.

The most I might spend on a DJI after the initial purchase is for the little legs, some stickers and ND filters - possibly the goggles down the track. An FPV setup looks like a bit of a money pit with ESC’s and so many other parts to replace. Do you have any insight into this please?

I’ve hit subscribe and will watch some more of your videos. They are very easy to watch, your manner is nice and you don’t sound at all condescending.

Are those canals on the Gold or Sunshine Coast (or somewhere totally different) ? I’m in NSW myself.

Hey Dan, enjoyed the video and have a Mavic on order from the Apple Store. I purchased from Apple as they at least seemed honest about the long delivery times (ETA 28/3 to 8/4/17). Where did you buy yours from and how long was the wait? (I'm based in Sydney) Thx

Nice video, but you should calibrate the horizon setting of the drone in the DJI GO app in your next video.

Excellent vid! I know what you mean about technology. I'm not a tech geek OR a Luddite, just another consumer, so it's really interesting to see what comes out and how it's taken to the max and made economical in such a small amount of time. I remember the battle between VHS and Betamax about who was going to rule the video world :)

Hi there, I am thinking of upgrading from a p3s to a mavic sometime next year, and I was wondering how yours has been going and how many satellites it can usually get, my ps3 can usually get around 8 to 10, I worry when it doesn’t get locked to many satellites and was wondering whether it’s the limitations of the ps3
