What does it feel like to freefall jump into thin air, four kilometres above the earth alongside Lithuanian Special Forces operators?

High-altitude, low-opening (HALO) freefall jumps are a useful but risky method of infiltrating Special Operations Forces into dangerous territory. By plunging from altitudes as high as 10 kilometres and opening their parachutes close to the ground, operators are able to hit small drop zones without being detected.

My mom went through hell to get out of Lithuania in the early 50’s her family even had to smoke Soviet soldiers to get her out and her sisters to thrive in America. And they did they are gone now but left a legacy. Only regret I have my mom never got to return she always had a fear of reprisals because of former Soviets living there. She was very paranoid of government even this one someone close to me who is special forces trained in Lithuania he said he never met soldiers with such big hearts and drive out of all the nato countries he trained with. I said bro I already knew that but it’s nice to hear. Any trouble with Russia me and my brothers family from all over will be on a plane immediately to help it’s been talked about. Now I’m not an expert but I thought halo jumps were usually done from a “high altitude” relative to a usual jump. From my knowledge halo jumps are usually from around FL300 (30k feet). Though I may be wrong about this information.

Sorry, this is not a HALO jump. Almost all HALO jumps require oxygen equipment due to the lack thereof at high altitudes. Seeing as you are wearing normal skydiving equipment, it was not one.

That was NOT a HALO jump, that was just tandem with military guys...
I did many HALO jumps back in the days, and no one I know would classify HALO jump from below 8Km height.

I think you might find ALL parachute jumps are risky, that's why they train so much.

Looks like you opened about 3, 000 feet - isn't that just the typical opening height of sport parachutists? Don't HALO jumps open lower?
