Typing this for the third time...it keeps deleting. Anywho.........I have had dozens of blind buys this year and most do not significantly phase me if they do not work out...I know going in there is at LEAST a 50-50 chance they will not be loves. I do not stress too much as I can sell on Mercari or give to a coworker or family member. However, these below were ones that were more painful as I had big expectations and or they were really expensive, or in one case, just smelled straight up........unpleasant. :) If you are the type to get upset if someone mildly roasts your fragrance or you find it painful to see ppl declutter your fragrance loves, I completely understand if you want to (and also recommend) click out of this video and join back in on the next one. If however you have a good sense of humor and enjoy these type of videos........welcome and I would love to hear about your tragedies as well. Maybe we can chuckle and learn something from each other in the process.

Of course, since I was sipping wine behind the scenes and it was late, I completely forgot about a huge BOMB of a blind buy (recent one). I will list it in an upcoming or my nest declutter.

I love your channel! You have such good taste and describe scents so wonderfully, although I'm biased because I think our tastes are similar 🥰 You're also the only fragrance reviewer (and only woman) I've heard talk about Milky Musk 39, which is one of my favorites. Yay for woody fragrances!

Also, blind buying is such a thrill. I don't do it anymore, but understand why people do. It's not really worth it to me since you're rarely going to earn all your money back, so you're ultimately paying to test out the fragrance anyway. I feel like I might as well pay for samples at that point.

Its all about the mystery of skin chemistry! Once I figured out that my skin doesnt like fragrances like Mon Paris, Si, Alien, Black Opium, Sofia Vergara, DC The One, Gucci Guilty, etc - I began to understand how to successfully blind buy! Give me heavy Oud, Angel, YSL Paris, Aldehydics like Chanel 19, and smokey leather like Joop Le Bain and I am happy. I dont get why I cant wear alot of the popular florals but they never work on me. 2021 has been full of major blind buy successes because I read reviews meticulously and I dont go for the ones I used to go for since they seem to misbehave on my skin...lol.

Okay I'm binge watching your channel today in no particular order so I must strike an earlier comment I made praising Poets of Berlin and suggesting it for you!! I had the same experience of no blueberry muffin though. My son said the same thing. We were both puzzled because we couldn't quite understand the scent and he thought Thai food! It's so fascinating how we interpret fragrance and I am so enjoying your channel. Thank you Chris.

About amouage…I just got sunshine a year after trying the sample. When I first got it I couldn’t stand the beginning of it, but I kinda liked the dry down. And just a few days ago I sprayed it on my wrist and found out I don’t hate the beginning at all now! It’s magical how your sense of smell changes!

Chris! Loved this video. I have definitely had some stinkers this year from blind-buying. Things that either just didn’t work or I couldn’t stand or could barely smell! I think the most disappointing was Nudiflorum by Nasomatto. It had a rhubarb top note and that got me so excited but on the skin it smelled like that stuff they spray to kill insects. Not bug spray but like Raid or something. Anyhow, really enjoyed this, hope you’re having a great holiday season. ✌🏽🧜🏻‍♂️♥️

I still own and wear my original SL Feminite Du Bois and I wonder if it is different than the reformulation. I wore it when it launched years ago. They seem to always add cumin to replace a banned ingredient I think? It was so ahead of it's time but newer versions may lack the originals beauty. My recent blind buy disaster is Bvlgari Tubereuse Mystique, wow a real scrubber for me. I love tuberose but apparently not this type, haha! look so darling, like a snow bunny in that outfit. oxJulia

I think whiff of wafflecone can be troublesome because of the resins, it's quite like deep caramelisation... I totally get that. Plus the almost pine cleaner background to that can either be pleasing or a bit annoying. I find it can depend on my mood.

You're totally right Chris about the Feminite du Bois. It was a fail for me too. And that was a great description about it. BODY ODOR. Specifiacally, arm pits. You're definitely polite about it. I know some people love this but so sorry that's what I smell. 🤣😂I feel if I give it to someone they will be offended. So I'll just try to sell it and it's on them if they do test it out first.
