My sister, growing up, would steal all of my things (books, money, etc) and either destroy it or consumme it. It was to the point that I would hide my self-bought treat food under my bed and when she still ate it, my mother would tell me that it was my fault for not buying two of everything because I "knew she liked it".
The jellybean story, especially because of how intense this guy feels about something so small, feels like the final straw. Now that she's had a kid, there's another person in his life that feels entitled to his space. Albeit, it's a child and that is normal, but it seems like he's hypersensitive to this sort of thing.
