Boldin has really given me a get deal of peace of mind as I forecasted retiring. So much better modeling than vanguard advisors. So much so that I left vanguard to DIY

Thanks for the review! I also have had this tool for several years. It helped me make the decision to retire last year at age 56.

Great tool. Excellent review. New subscriber. I noticed that in the Home and Real Estate section you did not specify a location for your primary residence. If you are in a high tax state, like me, it is key to specify your zip code. That's how the model determines state taxes. Your tax results showed no state taxes being paid, but I can attest that these can be massive. Many people dream of moving to another state in retirement. It is easy to play around with those zip codes and the Future Changes to Primary Residence function to see the financial impact of such a move.

I bought the paid version back when it was New Retirement and found this to be very helpful in modeling different scenarios such as selling my house to buy something for cash when I retire. One suggestion is to overestimate expenses a bit especially in the first decade of retirement when you are more likely to spend money for things you always wanted to do.

You said you don't know much about IRMAA, but that is critical in planning Roth conversions after age 63, because IRMAA looks back two years in order to determine your Medicare premium. Boldin does a good job of this.

It's a very good tool. I purchased it a couple months ago and like being able to compare scenarios side by side. I still need to work with it more to be comfortable and be sure I'm doing it right (garbage in=garbage out). According to my modeling it seem like I could retire at 60 without sacrificing much vs. 65. That's worth it's weight in gold.

Thank you for the review. Did you do a detailed video review / demo of the the Bolden Roth Conversion Tool? If so can you share the link please? Thank you.

Thanks for the demonstration. This is a powerful tool! I am considering a subscription. Do you know if there will be a Black Friday deal?

I retired a few months ago at 55 and Boldin contributed a lot to my confidence. I plan to leave Edelman and consolidate to a three fund portfolio with Boldin.
You mentioned this is a more powerful tool than Empower. However, there are no individual fund or stock connections in Boldin which would be a great upgrade. Do you know when this will be added?

I am always reluctant to give 3rd parties permission to access financial accounts, like the account connection. How secure are these connections and how do they work when I have two factor authentication on most accounts?

I'm looking for software, tool, that estimates current year taxes. Similar to Holistiplan, but for individual users. Thanks

great review, do you have any videos which cover roth conversion?

Can you specify an expense such as a new vehicle to occur every "x" years and have the program show it in projected cash flow with inflation adjusted cost? Also how does it handle Social Security spousal and survivor benefits?

Does Boldin factor in Premium Tax Credits for state ACA plans? Seems like this would be a critical planning feature needed for determining Roth Conversion amounts in early retirement so you can manage health care cost. If not, is there a work around to help DIYs?
Thank you!

In the expenses section, do you include funding to your contributions? For example, if you contribute $3k monthly to taxable brokerage account, do you include that in expenses as well?

Great review - been thinking about getting the paid version and his certainly helps that decision. What is your take on the Boldin advisory services?

great overview, thank you. Does this tool monitor actual 'real-time' performance to the plan? So if the plan is showing that a moderate strategy should yield a X% increase throughout the year, but as of today I've only achieved 4.5%, will it update the cash-flow plan in real-time and adjust ?

I am looking at retiring early and doing a 72T. So far none of the traditional planners or advisors seem to be able to model a 72T. Do you know if Boldin is capable of setting up SEPP as part of a 72T for the first years of a retirement plan and then treating the portfolio as standard retirement after 59 1/2? Also, is it capable of selecting which accounts to take withdrawals from, as part of my income would come from a 72T account and some from a taxable account, and there is also a Roth in the mix as well?

Do you think this is a good tool to use if you have already retired?

THank you but you're a little too obsessed with the specifics of the hypothetical scenario and didnt cover enough of what the app can and cant do. Flexibility and options and small annoyances are what I care about mostly, and you barely touched on that stuff. GOod overview but not enough for me to make an actual purchase decision.
