Your tinnitus story is basically me with my vision. I had trouble seeing from far away, but I thought that's what everyone saw. I always sat at the front of the class cuz I couldn't see sht. This one time, I got placed the the middle of the class. I constantly got up just to read the board, and eventually my teacher started to notice. I was given glasses and I was like "wait, y'all see like this... NORMALLY???"

Ah man the "eeee" sounds are so relatable. I remember hearing a toilet flushing repeatedly at random times in the day. Good old tinnitus. Hope you're doing okay now and also you're a great animator!

Had Tinnitus for as long as I remember, even while watching this vid I slowly nodded in agreement. At this point, when I'm super bored, I just enjoy the sound

that hearing doctor's office at the end is actually accurate in the layout. The pc, soundproof box, and the soundboard-looking thing that I have no idea what it does. the beep test really is just paranoia as you just start imagining beeps in the dead silence with headphones on. I too had the greatest genetics from my dad and mom since apparently, it needed both chromosomes from both sides to activate my hearing loss. Unlike Daidus mine was permanent, but also unlike Daidus mine was minor hearing loss and not severe so i function for couple of years until i took an official hearing test where the peoples went huh maybe there is something going on after me failing the test 4 years in a row.

I’m studying to become an speech language pathologist right now so everything you’re talking, I have been learning about. It can be difficult and annoying because part of the time you don’t know what’s going on. You’re just being driven from school to doctor to therapist without too much explanation as a kid.

Like you, I kinda grew up not being able to speak nor hear. I can remember getting my cochlear implants when I was 3 and oh my god, it felt so weird. My mind melted at that age, unable to take in the sounds I never knew other people could hear. Even so, I was still new to sound so it took me a while to speak normally. I've only said my first complete sentence in first grade. I'm in high school, still having to go to "speech therapy" after school. I'm fortunate to have a welcoming community for a deaf person like me! I speak easily now but I have a hint of an accent.

I said it a bunch of times already, but I'm very happy that you are now making regular uploads since you moved to Japan.
Great video and great parents (except for the inherited genes).

This also reminds me of my late development in my speech. Same story, also tongue tied except the hearing problem. Started speaking when I was 7. Wasn't VERY fluent until 8.

I too went through years of speech therapy because I was behind in my talking at a young age. I also remember the sound test and being placed in that sound proof room because my left ear is small. I always imagined that room as a rocket ship lol. Great video to watch!

Oh my God, I might have this, too! BUT I have a disability called APD (Auditory Processing Disorder), I was diagnosed with it at age 11 and always said "spikey" or "Cinnerhella" instead of spider or Cinderella. I definitely don't know if I have the small ear tube thing, but my hearing is fine, just not the processing part. I have tinnitus, too, because of the APD part. I get it mostly when I am extremely stressed, which isn't too often nowadays (ever since I am done with school.) But not being able to speak properly makes so much sense for me! I don't know if the thing at your throat connected to the ears (that would've made you deaf, as you mentioned) is the same thing as lymph nodes but I got those removed some time before I was diagnosed, because they were swelling.

Thank you so much for sharing, I think I finally know another core reason why I have APD, lol.

Glad to see you return, Daidus! I related to your speaking story a lot. My parents told me it took me until I was three to learn how to speak. I’m glad you were able to become the enthusiastic and funny speaker you are now. I hope things are going well in Japan!
