Jacoby wrote the song for his daughter. She was having troubles adjusting to her first year in college.

I sent this to my best friend. She has helped me “talk away the dark” more times than I can count. I have severe mental health & chronic physical illnesses that have disabled me. It’s been hard for 31 years (I’m 42 & things went sideways at 11) & the on, y times I ever acted on my thoughts were the few years we had stopped talking. She’s been there for me so much more than I deserve, but I can’t begin to thank her for always being there.

I don't get emotional much due to emotional detachment and then SSRI meds that "numb" me, but this song makes me feel "something". I LOVE Papa Roach, seen them in concert and I've had a boy crush on Jacoby for YEARS lol. This is a great version w/ Carrie Underwood! Love it!

As for the inspiration, PRoach has had their share of mental entanglements. Jacoby had lot s of substance abuse issues, he is now sober, but I am sure there is a constant struggle. Also they were friends with many of the big name losses that rock has had the last decade. They were all hit especially hard with the loss of Chester.
They released this song originally April 2022. They released the single Dec 2023 to go with a suicide prevention campaign. Then they did this collab as a charity single.
