Regardless of your position on the song, if a song offends you you’d think it’d be more reasonable to get mad at the creator of the song instead of a guy who listened to it?

It’s kinda crazy how when one idol from a big group suggested this song and said he love this song his fandom was all “omg he did this for the gays” “he said LGBT rights” but that same fandom was trending that hashtag about Namjoon and calling him a bad person for sharing that same song they praised another idol for. I find that really interesting honestly.

If that’s “just a song”, then “Unholy”, “Call me by your name” and “Demons” are just SONGS

Bro just went "Nu uh"
But in all seriousness as someone who lives in a Muslim country and have taken religion classes here's my thoughts on the situation:
Honestly the whole song doesn't really target one religion and the massage in it is valid. My problem is with the way "Allah Akbar" being used in it in such a way.
Of course I'm talking about the "He said Allahu Akbar, I said don't curse me" part of the song. Allahu akbar (which means Allah is one and only. In the sense that he is the one god that is everything. Sorry directly translating this frase is hard.) is a very sacred frase in İslam. Sadly even though it is, outside İslam it's usually viewed as a bad/ dangerous thing and this is so severe that I personally know people that have tried to pray in foreign countries just to end up being dragged by the police because they said "Allahu Akbar"
I hope you can understand why using that specific frase in that way will be looked down on in Muslim communities and this isn't even covering the common opinion in the community that the name os Allah shouldn't be used in such a song. Which I can see that point of view too.

So the song is obviously less then ideal to start with, but what makes RM's case much worse is the fact that he posted is while a newly opened mosque in Korea were being sent pig heads. (Idk why but a lot of people think that if you send a pigs head to a mosque it'll have to close down or something, which is just false) Which obviously doesn't really help his case... like at all.

He need to apologize no matter what, the song tittle and lyric is offensive, the lyric "Allahuakbar" is crucial to Islam and it so disturbing when the lyric say "don't curse me", the tittle litterally say bad religion and from everything they choose islam as metaphor is also offensive, rm know exactly what is going on and he still do it.

It disgusting to see how people litteraly deffend him, in other case when kpop idol do something offensive like giselle from aespa.

She sing a song with n word in it and say the word intentionally/unintentionally, maybe sliped beacuse of the hype but all people angry for that and curse her, because it offensive for them.

This is same as rm do, it offensive to islamic religion and we have right to get angry when he promote song like this.

“I’m not apologizing”💀💀nah that’s actually the best I’ve seen from idols like I love that they are so far into their careers to where they can just put something like this out because idols shouldn’t have to apologize for something that was taking out of context by fans 🤦🏽‍♀️💀💀

I’m not supporting his actions but I just love it when idols defend themselves instead of letting fans do it for them
It’s a symbol of strength and self-awareness

a famous idol who has millions of followers should consider deeply what kind of songs he shares . USING GOD's name in songs is disrespectful, and Muslims are not extremists they just protect their religion whose been already misshown by western media.

I wish Chan could do this and directly call out toxic stays for all their mishaps. Sometimes frank words are needed to get it into people's heads.
Proud of Joonie.

I'm not a BTS fan but I am a fan of Frank Ocean's music and the depth it goes through. Also I think that you shouldn't bash the artist if they perform the cover when they didnt write it, rather see why they chose it instead of jumping to conclusion. So back to the song:

Okay so like the song is about "bad religion" which stands for "unrequited love" and "bringing to my knee" is acting as synonym for "begging for someones love" is bad. And that a one-man cult is basically he loves this person without doubt. And that they don't love him back.

The only reason it has a muslim saying is because the artist (Frank Ocean) is from America and the man who he is talking about (the taxi driver) is Muslim. (It's common that it is common for Muslim men to be taxi drivers and their also marginalised in Hollywood)

So it wasn't mainly about religion rather a love song about unrequited love. So y'all chill. People should stop thinking they know everything and cancel-trigger happy.

Please grow up and old❤

Honestly, it happens too often that idols are forced to apologize for songs/shows/movies/etc. that they recommend (like Karina from aespa). It’s refreshing to see that he won’t take all the nonsense when he meant no harm

It's actually amazingly refreshing to see idols standing up for themselves and not apologizing for the things they never did wrong

He posted a song from a very popular artist, and *he* has to apologize for its contents? Not the countless other people who enjoy that song? Not the song’s actual artist?

K-pop stans are so weird

He dont have to apologize, and neither had to release this response.

Well whatever people think of the situation I’m happy he was allowed to stand his ground (even if it’s wrong or right) and respond as the real him (I’m not Muslim so it’s not my decision whether to be mad or not)
