On 2nd November 1953, Samaritans answered the first ever call for help.

70 years later, we're more needed than ever. Last year, there wasn't a single second when our volunteers weren't on the phone, and it’s thanks to them that we can continue to be here 24/7.

Aisha, one of our newer volunteers, travelled from Blackburn to Edinburgh to meet long-standing volunteer Shona, and discuss their experiences at Samaritans.
