iFixit Screen Replace Pixel 7 Pro, what you REALLY need to know.

See how an amateur uses the iFixit Screen Replacement kit to replace the cracked screen on a Pixel 7 Pro. This is the first screen I have ever replaced on a phone and I think really shows you what to expect when using the kit.

This is better than 99% of the tutorials out there. iFixIt should just send you a bunch of broken phones and laptops for you to film fixing.

Thank you for posting this. It was a very big help and your video gave me the confidence to replace my broken screen.

One thing I did, as I was removing the broken screen was inadvertently turn the phone back on. As the currently screen was further damaged, I wasn't able to tap the shut down button that is usually displayed on the screen. When it came time to test if the screen was working, it wouldn't show anything as the phone was already powered on. I later found that holding all 3 buttons on the side, the power and 2 volume buttons, for 20-30 seconds will power the phone off, without the need for the screen button way. I was then able to power the phone back on and see the screen working. Thought I's add this, just in case someone else finds themselves in that predicament.

Nice to see a warts and all fix. It's the same with car fix videos, their fix on video is always straight forward but when you do it you get seized bolts and and snapped connectors etc. Just broken my 7 pro so this will be useful. I've done about 3 phones before but always best to get as much info as you can for each model

Excellent tutorial. Ifixit's instructions on their website suck. I took my screen off cold with a knife. Easiest screen to remove I've ever messed with. Thanks brother.

Wish I had watched your video first. Would have been nice if Ifix it would have mentioned that plastic frame may stick in the phone. It wasn't till I put the adhesive on that I realized something doesn't look right 🙄 Was excited to have my phone back. They should post your video on their website over there's.

I transplanted my finger sensor which didn't work very well either and so after I transplanted it on to this new screen then all of a sudden not only does it work consistently it works through a really thick flexible plastic screen protector from a 10 year old Kindle tablet.

i have a shattered Google pixel 7a. just the glass is the problem. but after watching your video vs JUST a glass replacement, im wondering if I'll save myself time and aggravation by just replacing both, like you did here... thoughts?!

The iFixit website has comprehensive guides for many types of repairs, including replacing the Pixel 7 pro screen. Those manuals are updated and users can leave their questions and comments. I think that's the core function of that website, it's almost impressive that you missed that, haha 😋. Anyway, thanks for sharing your video!

Your guide was far better then the video and guide on their website. Let alone their website guide doesnt include the putting it together part, only taking it apart.

It was far more detailed, far more step by step and great reminders as the frame around the phone, i swore that was part of the phone until you said it had to be removed.

Their video/guide doesnt really clear that up very well
