It doesn't occur to me often that people equate consent with desire.

Had very confusing interactions with a guy I went on a few dates with, where I turned him down for more at the time because I had university papers to write. They take time, and it didn't matter how much I was interested, we hit my time limit.

He was super confused as to why I'd say no even though I kept explaining I didn't have time, and it's equivalent to just not showing up for work because you saw someone you wanted to have sex with. You still need to eat, so you go to work instead. 🤷‍♀️

I dunno why it's such a difficult thing to understand that some people have other reasons aside from lack of interest to say no. It's still a valid no. Sometimes confusing, but no less valid.

yapping for the sake of yapping. if you’re equating desire with consent that is an issue and you shouldn’t be teaching anyone anything on consent. consent very much just means permission. which is the literally meaning of the word.
