Quick video explaining how to set up a syphon to drain water from your pool.

Items Required: Hose, Rock, Tape and Bucket for easy filling

If air enters the hose when you are moving the hose to the ground repeat the process of filling the hose with water to clear air pockets trapped in the hose. A firm cover over the hose end is required for success. If you nail that part of this gravity with do the rest of the work.

It was a really wet summer here in Michigan.

I assume I need to drain the water sitting on top of the pool cover before winter comes to avoid any damages. While the water inside the pool below the cover is ok, it’s a couple feet below the edge/top of the pool (if that makes sense) at this moment.

I am doing everything you are doing, but no matter what I do I can get the hose filled up with water, it just never fills up…. I do t know what I am doing wrong

So are you draining the pool or just the pool cover?

FYI - the end of hose on the outside of pool needs to be lower than the end of hose inside of pool or it wont work.

I wonder why it's not working for me? I'm trying to vacuum out my pool and I cannot for the life of me create a suction
