Rip all your blu-ray / dvds discs lossless with MakeMKV

In this video I show you how to make a backup of your bluray and dvd movies. This method is really easy ( beginners ) and gives you the best quality possible. It's lossless. Because of that you will keep your HD audio and perfect bluray quality. After you have done this you have a MKV file from your bluray movie that you can play on almost any tv / mediaplayer / kodi / xbmc / plex.

Many users have experienced MakeMKV not working, MakeMKV down and other common MakeMKV issues. Beyond that, MakeMKV enables you to only rip encrypted discs to MKV format, which is somewhat frustrated for those who want to play the Blu-ray, DVD movie video on iPhone iPad Android or other mobiles on the move. So you probably need an alternative to MakeMKV like DumboFab Blu-ray ripper.

Simply put: MakeMKV is THE way to backup movie discs (unless you want to preserve the DVD/Blu-ray menus as well).
If you're the 'industrious' type, and plan to rip multiple discs simultaneously, you can simply run multiple instances of MakeMKV... Not tried it myself though.

When I rip movies with makemkv, it doesn't show the runtime in windows explorer along with the bitrates. Is there a way to fix that?

This looks like a great way to store dvd files. Do you use this solution with Plex? How does that work?

You also can rip DVD to lossless MKV using ByteCopy. Its interface is childlish so it will be easy to convert DVD to mkv with it for a beginner.
