second one with ötzi is really easy to explain. when they found him in the glacier, there were a lot of bacteria and other stuff that was just asleep in the ice. the people that had contact with the mummy got infected and the bodies didnt know how to deal with this old bacterias, maybe viruses. so they died.

For the Annabelle doll story, the first medium they contacted was influenced by the doll to say it was harmless and just wanting to play with them. And Lou wasn’t killed but he was scratched pretty badly, so then at that point they contacted Ed and Lorraine Warren, and they explained everything so the Warrens took the doll.

Just to clarify about Robert the doll, he wasn’t given to Gene by his grandfather, but his nanny who was moving away. She made the doll with Gene’s hair that she had collected, she also made them matching outfits.
