Did you catch this in Encanto? When Abuela calls for music and Agustin starts to play the piano, it’s actually a real song by famous Colombian artist Joe Arroyo. The movie never explicitly says what time period it is set in, but the song he plays, which is called En Barranquilla Me Quedo, was recorded in 1988 so it must be set some time after that.

But its was set around 1950-1960s because the war when abuelo died was 1890s-1900s

My understanding is the movie was set around the 1950s, since in the flashback of how the Encanto was created, Abuela and Abuelo were running from soldiers with machetes, which could have been a rebellion in Colombia that occurred at the turn of the 20th century around 1899-1901. Since the movie is set 50 years after Abeula fled her home, the movie would take place sometime in the early 50s.

Encanto actually takes place in the 1950s, so it was probably just a random Easter Egg they through in there.

I think that's really cool, but I think the movie actually takes place sometime in the 50's because the hints of the thousand day war were 50 years before most of the movie takes place and that was in the late 1800's
