So just like Betelgeuse, Roswaal, it turns out, is also a twisted parallel of Subaru. While Betelgeuse is much like Subaru at the start of series in his rabid, one-sided obsession with a white-haired half elf girl, Roswaal instead darkly reflects the person Subaru is starting to become now that he's getting accustomed to RBD: A man who holds little to no value for life, not even his own, because he knows everything will reset, and is willing to commit whatever atrocities are necessary in order to fulfill his goals. Roswaal is aware of this parallel, and in fact is actively encouraging it, making him far more dangerous than Betelgeuse ever was.

I really like that this scene highlights the fact that Roswaal always speaks deliberately, and when he is serious, his voice also becomes normal.

what I love about re:zero is that because of the "reset" premise, the writer could simply go NUTS for entire chapters, do all sorts of impossible plot twists, apocalyptic endings and brick-shitting revelations... then just kill Subaru to get back on track xD

This was so fucking horrifying and intense. The god fucking damn plot twist twisted my brain 360 degrees when I first saw this. No one- except for the light novel readers- knew about this much darker side of Roswaal. I mean god damn Garf crying out for Ram while turning into a beast was extremely emotional but turned to absolutely horrifying when Roswaal soccer-kicked Garfiel. I love Re: Zero.

I was shoked when Garfield and ram was killed by roswaal, but i was more shoked from Garfield's expression when ram fell and Garfield tried to heal her while panicking. I can see how much Garfield like ram
