March 26, 2024 I'm here listening and reading the emotional lyrics of this beautiful piece. It's literally telling my own story . Though he died in his prime, my dad abandoned us(his legitimate family) for another lady when I was just 4 . My younger sister died because of my dad's neglect, I was told . I almost followed soon after but God saved my life and that of of my mother because the poor woman would not have survived the grief. Thank God for my Maternal uncle and grandparents, my kid bro and I are adults now . My sweet mom later died too in 2002. It's been 22 years . I'm now 37 . Glory to God. I have forgiven my dad and I want to be a good husband and father to my kids 🙏. It hurt not to experience the love of a father .
