How to Enable Zero RPM with a Custom Fan Curve | RX 5700, 5600, 5500

In this video I show how to enable Zero RPM mode with a custom fan curve for RX 5000 series cards in the Radeon Software. I recently received a comment asking if it was possible to enable zero rpm with a fan curve as usually the option disappears when enabling a custom fan curve. After a bit of research I discovered it was possible and I thought I'd make a video showing how in case it helps anyone. Thanks for watching!

If you’re having issues getting the fans to switch off once you’ve done all the steps, I know of 2 ways to get it working:

1 - Load the profile and reboot your computer. Zero rpm should work after a few mins
2 - Load a profile that doesn’t have zero rpm, then load the zero rpm one

Radeon software is weird I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for this man! I was looking for this as I have used MSI Afterburner to adjust fan curves but my monitor flickers because of it. So I needed Radeon software to modify fan curves but then the zero RPM feature is disabled every time you set a custom fan curve. This works! Thank you so much. Subbed!

At first it didnt work for me so i was like ok nevermind. And 2 hours later I launched amd software again and it showed 0 RPM. So thank you so much man :D

Now the only thing i'm waiting from AMD is enable the card to not use all the VRAM when running on 144hz.

On v23.7.1, Feature ID="18" was already on "false", and Zero RPM shows a line indicating the fan kicks in at 50c (wish I could move that to 40). My card has never gotten to 50c, with fans on, even while gaming in an 80f degree room. So I made my custom bit starting at 50c for the range to 72c. 50=30%, 55=35%, etc. (may wind up tweaking those a bit still) Seems to work great, and as I watch this video and type this, my temps are at 32-34c and fan is at zero.

im sorry i know this post is old but I need your help. Im using a nitro 7900 gre and for some reason the fans start to spin early at 45C. is there a way to change it to make it at least 50C? and also when I set a custom fan curve, they don't follow it, for example I set 15% at 45C and 25% at 50C, when temps reach 45C the fans spin at 25% right away.

I opened the xml document with notepad, but feature id=18 doesn't show up. Only numbers 19 through 22 are present
