Fly Tying: Mega Prince

The mega prince is another great winter pattern and it does exceptionally well in the early spring as well. I really like to fish it when water is high just after runoff, it has just enough flash to catch fish's attention in murky water, but also is extremely heavy and sink fast if needed.

Materials I used in the video:
Hook: Dia Riki#270 ( Size #8)
Bead: Hareline Cyclops Brass Bead (Copper 5/32)
Thread: Danville flymaster plus 70 Denier Olive Brown
Lead Wire: .020mm
Tail: Brown Grizzly Marbou
Tail/Legs/Antenna: Sili Legs Barred Pumpkin Green Orange
Dubbing: Pheasant Tail Ice Dub
Body: Peacock Herl
Ribbing: Copper Wire Brassie
Collar: Brown Hen Neck Hackle
Wing: White Goose Biots

I just found your channel. I really like patterns that use the older materials. The new synthetics certainly have their place, but I prefer the old standards. They are much cheaper to acquire and I find them just as effective if not more so. All the best, Sean
