I like Garuda's approach of doing all of the setup at the start and never having to worry about it ever again.

I left Windows for Garuda Dr46onized Gaming release 6 month ago, it is the first distro that inspired me to take the step over to Linux.
Still I consider my self a noob and a GUI user but im slowly learning commands and how to use the terminal...
Now im running my pc on four screens without any issues what so ever, customized about everything possible and it looks awesome!!
After detoxing from Windows software I now use only opensource software, that took me some time, it was har letting go of the programs ive learned to master... Today I manage all my needs on my Garuda system, grahpic design, gaming, banking and all officelike tasks.

I can very much recomend you to try Garuda!! I only found it after trying 25+ distros and at that time was scared of leaving Windows,
you will probably find everything youre looking for in Garuda!

This is by far my favorite distro it has everything I need right out of the box. I used to district hop between manjaro and Linux mint and a few others but once I stumbled across this one I finally let go of windows for good and made this my permanent daily driver. Ive only been using Linux for about a year now.

i use as a daily driver the dragonized editon and its the most cool looking desktop ive ever seen ever, does so many cool graphical things yet its faster than linux mint cinnamon was, which is what i started with after leaving windows. linux in general, and garuda continues to impress me more and more every time i use it. ive messed with settings once or twice and broke some things, and all i had to do with garuda was simply use btrfs to boot into a previous snapshot and all was instantly fixed. amazing.

I used the Sweet theme (those icons which you see on Garuda Plasma) years ago. Yes, it looks cool. But I did end up switching it because the lack of contrast makes it rather tedious to immediatly find the icon which you want. By the way, don't update Firefox or downgrade it again if you run Arch(-base). The last update made my CPU-load go to 100% twice today, I downgraded it again and it did not happen again.

For newbie’s… it is a great distro. As an advanced user I prefer gentoo… more customization

If I were to use this, I would end up using the GNome version, since that is what I personally prefer. Maybe I will install it on a spare SSD to try it out but, I will stick to Ubuntu 20.04 as my daily.

Tip for people thinking of giving Garuda a look- The Garuda developers say specifically that performance in a VM is bad because of the special RAM handler and other tweaks. It is very fast and responsive on bare metal.

I tried Wayfire- really nice fun graphics, hope they keep developing it.

I tried it to bare metal the last time I needed a clean install and ended up with Endeavor. Tried a few versions of Garuda, and I couldn't last more than a few days. The amount of "helper" add-ons is ridiculous, but the more important thing is that all of them (KDE Dragonized especially) are just pigs. Stick with EOS who really do embrace the "as close to Arch" philosophy.

Rolling distrol have create update problems.

They started out with a Cinnamon version but it was dropped because of lack of maintainer for that DE.

Installed Gaming edition and man it is so slow even on Intel i5 10th gen CPU with SSD drive and 8GB ram. I used it for a day then replaced it with Ubuntu Budgie Linux which flies btw - super fast. After watching this review I will reinstall it and share my experience again. May be I installed all the packages last time that made it super slow.

Garuda is interesting but I really do prefer Arcolinux over Garuda

Garuda is about as far from a pure Arch as you can get. The flagship version, Dragonized, is loaded with custom settings that make it very taxing on laptops, running very hot and burning through batteries running the cpu full-bore. Look over the forums, filled with problem after problem, and mostly from noobs who are enticed in with themes and icons, only to be confused by Arch and then berated by forum participants who are very particular with how questions should be asked. Garuda is a dumpster fire.

Mangaro comes with btrfs support not and i think it automatically installs grub-btrfs and timeshift-autosnap.
