Epic Motors! Schindler Hydraulic [Street Level] Elevators - Union Square Station - San Francisco, CA

[Recorded 11-19-22] On the day this video was recorded, this was the grand opening of the brand new Central Subway MUNI line! The new line has three underground stations with elevators and Tyler and I went to each one. This is the first station, which is the Union Square Station. These are the street-level elevators that open right in front of Macy's. Both cars have really epic motors and they're roped hydraulic. Since the doors are glass, you can really see the hydraulic setup. Even though these are brand new, they could use a little bit of tweaking. The first car overshoots the top floor and has to relevel. The second car's doors are super slow and something sounds out of alignment when it closes. The voice in both cars could also be turned down a lot. Other than that, these are awesome brand-new Schindler installations!
