1/48

This kit was suddenly released at the end of 2022.

I was happy to make it with the final version of the main fighter for current use.

I look forward to the 1:48 version of the F-22 coming out in the future.

Anyway, It takes over two months to complete this video. It was a more hand-working task than I thought.

The painting was done according to the manual. Because using a different color may not match the color of the decal.

The following are the precautions.

Decal softer melt decal it self, so careful and clean it.

The wings, left and right light, and the front part of the canopy are covered with a decal, so you don't need to color it.

You need to pay a lot of attention to show the rivet shape under the decal.

I’m not a modeller…….but worked on aircraft all my life. That is superb work.

I'm reminded that when I do the details like this - I'm only doing it for myself and 99% of the people won't even noticed how much effort went into it :D

You're a brave man for using those decals. Nicely done!

Those decals looked like a nightmare. I’m glad Im building the RAAF version & won’t need most of them. Sensational work looks fantastic. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃

Really good detail and work. Can you tell me what paints you used to paint the outside of the aircraft, the engine and the cockpit? Thank you!

I had a few model cars and planes when I was in middle and high school but I sort of got out of it after I graduated high school. You're almost making me want to pick it back up again

I work on this jet and I’m surprised on how detailed the model is i recognize many parts on the inside of the weapons bay and even the outline of all majority of the panels on the outside

That is an absurd amount of decals. I have this kit and I think it will stay in the box after seeing this.

Those decal markings are completely over the top... you should replicate the RAF version...much more dignified

Awesome, who would have thought so much detail work would be necessary for a sleek modern jet!

Great job. Fortunately you don't need all those RAM decals for new F-35s. It's the same colour as the fuselage.

Geeze, that's a nice model of the Panther.
The only thing I'd change is that the EOTs sensor windows are a particular greenish, amber color? Those are quarts windows, and so they do change the light passing through them wierdly.

The canopy is like the F-22s. It's got some magic in it for stealth purposes as well, and while it's not golden, it does have a darker shade.

A pilot mentioned that the 'panel lines' are the same color.
I can confirm they are, I literally work in these things every day, but those panel lines get their differences because of the type of material they are. They're more 'matte' in their reflective properties while the finish on the skins directly is less 'matte', but not very glossy. There's a high scatter with the RAM coatings, so you don't see reflections in it. It's very dull. The panel lines are simply MORE dull.

I try to explain it because there may be a way to replicate it via modeling paint mixtures. It's not a color difference. It's a texture difference (basically) and perhaps this may help stir the imagination as to what paint and finishes maybe be used in experiments later.
