This is a great conversation, one that by all rights should be happening in any university worth its salt. Great books Michael, read them all and passed them on to others. I'll be looking to Stephen's book(s) as well.

The revolutionaries of the American Revolution were also a minority. It appears there are no mass movements in history.

The Enlightenment philosophers are the ones that abandoned reason, not the Christians. You admitted that at the first when mentioning Rousseau. But then you contradicted yourself saying "the arguments" were better against God. But Enlightenment thinkers actually rejected reason and turned to impulse, emotion, and intuition.

Math doesn't need humanists or secularism. Christians accepted math and created science as we know it today.
