I was thinking about this today. I usually just accept that a jerk did a jerky thing internally. Say "well, that's how that guy is and that's dumb" and I move on with my life. I guess that's what Marcus is going for

This is a strange one. I'm relatively new to stoicism but all the stoic practices were naturally in me it seemed from birth. I would always view this situation as its simply my opinion that said guy is a jerk, and my opinion is probably based on only the small part of that guy that I'm familiar with. Therefore it's probably not the best analysis of him, and even if it was who am I to judge? It isn't my duty to feel anything towards him. Engaging in my own opinion of someone is still optional

The same way we Christians are nothing without Jesus, is the same way this guy is nothing without Marcus. The way he speaks interminably about Marcus is insane.
