The Republicans stole the election in 2024 because of the purges in all the states.
Yep, but I was also very concerned about the new Greg Palast piece you had on your show, talking about how they are now stealing the 2026 midterm elections.
Correct.
I have been forwarding this to every person I can think of in major media, including MSNBC, and no one wants to touch this. Why is that? I think Trump gave a bad name to questioning the veracity—or whatever the proper word is—the safety of our elections.
Well, this is going to cost us the election, just as it cost us the last one.
Agreed. The total failure—colossal failure—of the media.
It’s not just the media. If the official Democratic Party—if Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer—would raise some hell about this, the media would lose their bashfulness around the topic. They would start talking about it. But you can't find a Democrat who wants to talk about it.
Which is really— I mean, outside of the Black Caucus. The Congressional Black Caucus is all over this.
Greg’s movie Vigilante, Inc.—have you seen that, Alfredo?
Yeah, yeah, I’ve seen it.
But the rest of Congress, the rest of the Democrats, still have their heads in the sand.
One last question, Thom. Why can’t the Democrats walk off the floor and deny a quorum for all these bills? They’re funding everything.
I believe the quorum is a simple majority, and Republicans represent a simple majority. So if the Democrats walk out, it simply reduces the number of Republican votes necessary to get something done. The majority is based on the people voting, not the total number of the House of Representatives itself when it comes to tallying a vote.
If all the Democrats walked out, only half of the Republicans—plus one or two—would need to show up to pass legislation. So you’d be doing them a huge favor. They could go home, they could go on a junket to Thailand—whatever.
So no, that doesn’t work, Alfredo. Sadly, unfortunately. If it did, you would have seen it. Frankly, you would have seen Republicans doing it over the years.
