What to do hen your hot water heater has too much sediment to drain. You are supposed to drain your hot water heater once a year, but I recommend every six months. A metric shit ton of sediment came out in just a years time.

Thank you. Had the same problem after everything was disconnected. Would only come out the top pressure valve opening. Sure enough, I took the entire drain valve at bottom off and it had sediment built up. Used air compressor to blow out and started drain right away. Am installing in a different property cause was pretty new, so will be sure to flush out and I will be installing a water purification system in this renovation!

Can I ask what happens if the line is clogged? Do you even hear water coming to the tank?

Ya need a whole home water filter going into your house. This system will pre clean all of your home water. It's much easier to replace a sediment filter than drain your WT. Plus your shower heads, Coffee maker, will last much longer. City water and sediment sucks.

I wonder if opening a hot water faucet in a different part of the house would break the air lock.
