I added a sheet of cut to size fibreglass to the back of the speakers just before recording this video. I don't know if they sound better... in an ideal world they would not have the fibreglass and be placed further from the rear wall.
Without the fibreglass the phone audio is boomy, especially/particularly when I filmed the speaker's backside. boom boom boom., really all you could hear.
With better placement they do sound fuller when used as DUAL intended, with the thin sheet of material and the holed back cover only.
Very good at low volume levels, the amp and speaker combination is a winner folks, especially if you are a small child who can't lift heavy speakers. Being single voice speakers there's the odd moment where you feel they haven't been fully there, and if driven past 2pm on the volume dial they become harsher, still, an almost valve-like dynamism at low to moderate volumes, with a sound that carries well, a very open and clear bell like tone. The amp gives great separation and sound staging. Push pull mono stereo button on the volume pot.
