In real life, emerald is very soft and is very delicate. So it would not be very durable. At least turtle shells are like Emerald helmets

Emerald tools could be like super gold: Faster and a bit more resistant, but still very weak. Maybe they could be combined with an end ore, if they will add one to make magic wands or something like that...
