I cannot agree more that this is a must have game. They did not bloat it up with minis for everything that would only make setup and management more of a pain. It was designed for fast and tight combat which it delivers in spades. The app adds to the experience on the tabletop rather than taking over or away from it, unlike Descent LotD. It also allows the game to track how well or bad you are doing and adjust accordingly in the background. The fights are quick and only last 3-4 rounds so they feel like cool action scenes in a movie rather than long drawn-out slogs. The story scenes offer plenty of player choice in between and the map exploration is done really well. The rules are very intuitive and so far, the only thing I have struggled with is pronouncing some of the names of things. You get a fast paced, streamlined campaign game with easy-to-follow rules and enough choice to offer replayability that all fits in a single normal-sized box, including the expansion content. The only thing that does not fit is the 4 boss minis that were a freebie for backers. The expansion adds another campaign you can do and a new character that can be used in either campaign.
