Imagine running a time to make you the second fastest ever and still being 0.06 from the fastest time THAT YEAR, crazy stuff.

Without Blake Bolt wouldn’t have had that much motivation for the 2012 Olympics.

many sources refer to Blake as the 3rd fastest man of all time. It’s simply not true, he is the 2nd fastest man. The reason (generally American) sources put Tyson Gay as the 2nd fastest man is that he ran the time first, so they put HIM as 2nd and Blake as 3rd. What they should do is take into consideration Blakes blistering 200m, which blows Gay out of the water.
In Blakes (2nd fastest ever) 200m he had a terrible start, but caught everyone up, and blew right past them and still achieved the 2nd fastest time ever. If he’d had even a mediocre start, he would be the World Record Holder and history would have been so different!
Not sure how the Jamaicans produced them in a single era, but Bolt, Powell, and Blake were absolutely astounding! It’s unlikely that we will ever see the likes of them again.

Blake needs to stop running now, he’s way past his prime and is damaging his legacy. I want to remember him as he was, not as a senior who can nearly break 11 Seconds..

Nestar Carter is very much underrated.

Not the second, but the THIRD best performance all time :
1. Usain Bolt 9'58" (2009 Berlin Championship)
2. Usain Bolt 9'63" (2012 London Olympic Games)

Nobody realized but this was the fastest 100m ever in human history! Here's why;

Usain Bolt set a world record of 9.58 seconds in the 100 meters with a +0.9 m/s tailwind and a reaction time of 0.146 seconds. Adjusting for a typical wind effect of about 0.075 seconds per 1 m/s, without wind, his adjusted time would be approximately 9.64 seconds.Yohan Blake ran 9.69 seconds with a -0.1 m/s headwind and a reaction time of 0.174 seconds. Adjusting for wind, his adjusted time would be approximately 9.68 seconds.When equalizing their reaction times, Bolt's adjusted time becomes 9.668 seconds, and Blake's adjusted time becomes 9.652 seconds. Therefore, with adjustments for both wind and reaction times, Blake's adjusted time is slightly faster than Bolt's, showing how these factors affect sprint performances.

The 2nd fastest man couldve been Powell but he missed the opportunity

And he STILL ran into headwind! Was under the weather too???!? That means he's a whole nother level faster than Tyson on the clock unofficially. 🤦🏿‍♂️😓😁

Called him *the beast* for a reason.
