The Vitamix is a commercial quality blender that’s used in restaurant kitchens all over the world so why would you want such a blender in your own kitchen? Well, it’s built do last and designed to do so many of the jobs that we need to do every day in our kitchen, but with only one machine. This is the Vitamix tamper that you need to help process thick or frozen ingredients – like peanut butter which is made with literally peanuts and nothing else! Once I’ve loaded all the ingredients, I replace the lid, select variable 1 and turn the machine on slowly increasing the speed to high. I use the tamper to push the ingredients down. My mixture will be done in just 60 seconds. We’re going to refrigerate the mixture over night so I can make my peanut butter frozen yogurt. Ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbets all take less than a minute to make. They’re super easy and super delicious! Our recipe calls for frozen 2% milk. We’ll also be adding vanilla yogurt, honey, vanilla extract and then our homemade peanut butter. Use your tamper to push everything down and don’t worry if you hear a growling sound – that’s very normal and le’s you know that the treat is just about ready.
Vitamix makes soup by generating friction which blends and heats the ingredients in only 6 minutes. I’m going to make a quick bacon, cheddar and potato soup. So I have some milk, cheddar cheese, baked potatoes, chopped onion, salt and pepper, fresh dill and cooked bacon. I’ve added everything in but one potato, some of the bacon and half the cheese. Now we lock the lid and start at variable speed 1 and slowly increase that speed to high. After 6 minutes, turn the machine back to variable, set it to speed 2 and add your remaining ingredients and blend for just 20 more seconds. This will give the soup great texture. The voluminous container is bpa free and dishwasher safe but it can really clean itself. Add a drop of dish soap and two cups hot water. Cover the container and run on high for about 30 seconds. Rinse with more warm water and you’re done. Go to QVC recipes to find some Vitamix exclusive dishes and also check out my recipes page there too. You’ll find lots of Vitamix friendly recipes like my carrot ginger soup, creamy tropical berry smoothie and key lime cheesecake milkshakes.
