Welcome to the age of no code

At Webflow, we believe that the future of code will be visual. Why? Because we believe in the power of code — but in its current state, code is inaccessible to many. A wall between creators’ visions and reality. We’re here to break down that wall.

You guys have to do a Skillshare on how you make these videos! Beautiful work!

I started my career in 1987. I remember visual interactive programming (VIP) from the late 80’s. It didn’t take root. I’ve been hearing talk of not having to write code for 30 years, yet no one has made it a reality. Here I am in 2019 still using a text editor to write lines of code.

I usually skip ads as soon as I'm able to, but this ad not only caught my attention, it _kept_ it and got me genuinely interested in learning more. This is what all ads should aspire to be.

It's a privilege I've discovered Webflow 3 years ago, and it's a blessing to use it every day. It's a shame (still) not many people know it (though they should), let alone use it, hence i completely agree with promoting Webflow with this next level way of advertising. Webflow and the team deserves this. Great job!

This video just made me so excited for the future of makers. I say "makers" because there are thinkers that have converted to being a maker as a result of adopting Webflow over the years. Many have yet to be "woke" to this no code notion. I can only speak for myself. I wished for a tool like this to exist. Thanks for bringing the future closer into view guys! Sincerely, your biggest fan.

Now that I know how to code, I don't use webflow (mostly because of that price), but I still keep coming back to this video. Visually stunning is an understatement.

Easily the best advert we have seen this year.

Everyone's here to appreciate how cool the video was. If webflow has put in so much time, money, efforts and no compromise in representing themselves. I have zero doubts on the webflow's products.

Designing a website is not the same as coding, also users will be constrained by the functionality of Webflow, unlike HTML/CSS which once mastered can really be creatively flexed into something amazing. Sure creators might be able to do more with understanding less, but you won't be creating the next killer app with Webflow because I guarantee Webflow is designed around the web development issues of today, not tomorrow. The folks actually writing stuff by hand will be solving the issues of tomorrow.

Webflow is most likely going to be like getting some legos to make a statue out of, instead of actually learning and mastering the art of chiseling.

Edit: Checked out their site, and it looks interesting, BUT I'd wager if you can understand how to use webflow effectively you're already halfway to the point of being a web developer, and that isn't even accounting for using their CMS API, and understanding how websites work in general. I think webflow is more geared towards those who understand how to design websites the "old fashioned" way, and serves to make their design experience more streamlined.

The idea of some Joe blow knowing nothing about web design coming in and whipping together a great user experience is a bit far fetched. A quick dive into their site proves that you have to have some technical knowledge or ability, to get more value out of Webflow than you would, lets say, a myspace page.

Pretty sure those ideas don't involve any setup of server applications, backend services, game engines, machine learning algorithms, database systems, networking protocols, utility libraries, or any custom micro-interactions.
